Mission
139 Wellness is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry that exists to help all people recover their true identities in Christ that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.
Why 139?
The “139” in 139 Wellness stands for Psalm 139, specifically Psalm 139:13-14. The foundation of 139 Wellness is built first and foremost on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Second to that, we hold on to the truth of Psalm 139 verses 13-14 that say, "for you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."
What is Wellness?
The 'Wellness' in 139 Wellness stands for mental, physical, and spiritual healing that can only be found in the mighty name of Jesus. This is deeply rooted in The Shema which can be found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5 that says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."
Also, if the tomb is empty, ANYTHING is possible. This includes recovery from food, body image, and exercise struggles.
Founded in 2020
139 Wellness was founded in April of 2020, right in the midst of COVID-19. The ministry was born out of a need for a recovery group where the name of Jesus could be spoken freely and openly, specifically in the realm of eating disorder recovery. 139 Wellness became an official 501(c)(3) organization in the Fall of 2022 with the help of Jordan Poole of the Closer to Love Movement.
